As proud Canadians, there’s nothing we like more than a few games of road hockey. Even better when it’s for a good cause.
That’s why we’re dusting off our jerseys and taping up our sticks again this year to play as part of the Scotiabank Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer, the world’s largest road hockey fundraiser. This event is now in its seventh year, and includes teams of rookies, seasoned veterans and prominent celebrities from across North America who will come together on September 23, 2017 at Woodbine Racetrack.
This is our second year supporting this awesome initiative and at SurfEasy HQ we’re getting even more competitive than last year (honestly it’s getting a little heated).
Last year, the SurfEasy team raised a huge $10,000 for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
Now, we’re aiming even higher.
As well as raising sponsorship money this year, as a company we’re donating $1 for every annual SurfEasy plan added until Sept 23rd (up to $10,000). All money raised will be going to crucial cancer research, therapies and treatments that will ultimately save lives and provide a fighting chance to all those living with this devastating disease.
Almost all of us will have experienced cancer in some way—whether that’s suffering it ourselves, helping a loved one through the disease or losing someone we know. An estimated 173,800 new cases of cancer and 76,200 deaths occurred in Canada in 2010 alone. If you take into account all of the families and friends of those affected, the number of people touched by cancer would be in the millions. We can all agree, then, that it’s time to take a stand against cancer.
At SurfEasy we’re dedicated to helping worthwhile causes—and this is one of the most worthwhile of all.
If you can’t sponsor a player personally, every annual SurfEasy plan added until Sep 23rd will include a donation—so treat your mom, your boyfriend and your neighbour to a year of real privacy and security, safe in the knowledge that you’re a part of the fight against cancer.
