SurfEasy Keeps Your Online Life Private from Big Brother and Big Data with New VPN Applications

SurfEasy VPN encrypts all Internet traffic on smartphones, tablets and computers

Empowers users to take control of online privacy and enjoy greater freedom on any device and network

TORONTO, ON – June 24, 2013 – SurfEasy Inc. today announces online and retail availability of SurfEasy VPN, software designed to empower users to take control of their online privacy and unlock access to blocked websites and content on Android, iOS, Mac and Windows devices. With this launch, and in combination with its portable USB-based Private Browser, SurfEasy delivers advanced online privacy solutions to consumers looking for low-cost and easy-to-use tools for encrypting their online information and browsing the web without restrictions from anywhere in the world.

“Whether it is websites selling our online data for profit, big brother monitoring our online activity or hackers trolling Wi-Fi hotspots to steal credit card information, we’ve all become aware of just how vulnerable and profitable our online information has become,” said Chris Houston, founder and CEO, SurfEasy. “SurfEasy VPN offers bank grade security in an affordable and easy-to-use application so anyone can control how much they share online. We also give users the key to unlock full access to their favorite sites and online videos, letting them surf the web freely and without restrictions.”

SurfEasy VPN uses bank grade encryption to secure all Internet data from hackers, websites and anyone trying to monitor Internet traffic on smartphones, tablets and computers. The user’s IP address and physical location are shielded from websites and search engines to enable anonymous browsing, allowing you to safely connect to Wi-Fi hotspots in coffee shops, airports and hotels without being monitored. Online information – including email, apps and web browsing – is securely sent across the high-speed SurfEasy Private Network. With a SurfEasy IP address, users can also access geo-restricted and censored content from anywhere in the world.

“Our online privacy is threatened by hackers and large companies that profit from the misuse or sale of our online data, taking advantage of those who are not comfortable using advanced encryption tools typically reserved for governments, corporations and the more tech-savvy crowd,” said Dr. Michael Geist, University of Ottawa Law Professor and renowned digital privacy expert. “With SurfEasy VPN, the average user finally has access to simple, one-touch applications that let them take control of their online privacy.” Geist serves on the SurfEasy Advisory Board to help guide the company’s product direction and policies.

For a limited time, SurfEasy is offering a free Starter VPN plan to allow customers to experience the benefits of using a VPN risk-free. The Starter plan includes 500MB/month of encrypted browsing across any five devices. Customers can earn an unlimited amount of free data by helping their friends and family protect their privacy by referring them to SurfEasy. For those who want unlimited data encryption, browsing and streaming, SurfEasy offers the Total VPN plan at $4.99/month or $49.99/year for any five devices. The Mobile VPN plan for one smartphone or tablet costs $2.99/month or $29.99/year.

February 25, 2013 SurfEasy Packages Public Network Data Encryption for Mobile Carrier Offering

SurfEasy Packages Public Network Data Encryption for Mobile Carrier Offering

Availability of SurfEasy's privacy network solution means carriers can extend the same mobile network privacy to customers on outside Wi-Fi networks

BARCELONA – Mobile World Congress - Feb. 25, 2013 - SurfEasy today announces that its global encrypted private network is being offered to mobile carriers as a value-added service, enabling customers to experience uninterrupted privacy when transitioning between their mobile network and public Wi-Fi networks.

SurfEasy presents an opportunity for mobile carriers to offer customers a seamless, user-friendly application to ensure online activity remains as secure on public Wi-Fi networks as is experienced on carrier networks. This service is becoming more valuable as mobile customers increasingly use off-network Wi-Fi hotspots where security and privacy can put user information at risk. The increased availability of public Wi-Fi offers customers a convenient way to connect to the Internet on-the-go, in coffee shops, airports hotels and anywhere they connect to the Internet. As these customers seek consistent privacy across networks, SurfEasy allows them to do so through the trusted relationship established with their carrier. By extending this service to customers, carriers offer the same online security benefits of their mobile network for Wi-Fi network usage via SurfEasy's global private network, which shields users' IP address, location, and identity, and encrypting data for online privacy.

"As the usage and popularity of Wi-Fi networks grows, mobile carriers will want to offer customers the same grade of network security experienced on their 3G and 4G networks," said SurfEasy CEO Chris Houston. "SurfEasy is now packaging our global private network and bringing it to carriers to offer as a value-added service, enabling a seamless customer experience as it relates to privacy, as customers shift use between mobile and public Wi-Fi networks."

SurfEasy's online privacy services are delivered via a cloud-based infrastructure, keeping carrier deployment costs low. SurfEasy privacy software is available to mobile carriers now and is compatible with smartphones, tablets, and laptops on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac OS. SurfEasy is exhibiting this week at Mobile World Congress in the Ontario Pavilion, section 7F24.

February 25, 2013 SurfEasy Extends Online Privacy, Security and Freedom to Your Mobile Device

SurfEasy Extends Online Privacy, Security and Freedom to Your Mobile Device

SurfEasy online privacy software protects all Internet traffic including email, apps and web browsing on Mac OS, Windows, Android and iOS devices

BARCELONA - Mobile World Congress - Feb. 25, 2013 - SurfEasy today introduces mobile software to expand its popular online privacy and secure browsing solution to smartphones, tablets and laptops on Mac OS, Windows, Android and iOS operating systems.

With SurfEasy's online privacy software, the user's IP address, physical location and identity are shielded from all sites they visit on their mobile device, securing the user's online information and protecting their identity. All Internet traffic in and out of the mobile device is encrypted using bank-grade technology through the global SurfEasy private network including all web browsing and client-based applications such as email and social networking apps. SurfEasy keeps hackers and snoops from monitoring online activity and also enables greater online freedom by allowing users to surf the Internet they love without restriction, from anywhere in the world.

"Mobile devices have become the place from which we manage our lives, be that social, financial, work or play. More mobility means more time on Wi-Fi and as a result, increased exposure to security risks, lack of privacy and location-based restrictions," said SurfEasy CEO Chris Houston. "SurfEasy is the answer to this real technology shift, putting seamless privacy control in the hands of mobile device users, not the snoops lurking on Wi-Fi hotspots."

SurfEasy's mobile device offering is expected to be available in early April through select retailers and for download on Google Play and the App Store. It will debut with a free trial, in addition to low monthly and annual price points. SurfEasy is exhibiting this week at Mobile World Congress in the Ontario Pavilion, section 7F24.

May 1, 2012 SurfEasy Partners With NCADV To Provide A Lifeline To Domestic Violence Victims

SurfEasy Partners With NCADV To Provide A Lifeline To Domestic Violence Victims

DENVER, CO—The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) is partnering with SurfEasy to provide a lifeline to domestic violence victims. For every SurfEasy unit purchased until Mother's Day, SurfEasy will donate a unit to NCADV's network of abuse victims and survivors.

Each year, an estimated 1.3 million women are victims of domestic violence in the United States. The Internet is a valuable tool for victims to find support services. But using a shared computer to browse the Internet can leave victims vulnerable to abusers who can gain access to their victim's web history and email or social media passwords; which abusers commonly use to further abuse their victims.

The portable SurfEasy Key launches a password-protected web browser, which stores all web history, bookmarks and passwords securely on the removable SurfEasy USB key. This ensures personal data is not stored on the user's computer. SurfEasy encrypts the web browser traffic, ensuring it is not tracked or monitored. Because a user's information is protected and not stored on the computer, abusers will not be able to access the user's web history, passwords or favorites from any computer.

“The SurfEasy USB Key is a great resource for victims and survivors of domestic violence," Says Rita Smith, NCADV executive director. “SurfEasy will give our victims and survivors the tools to protect their online privacy from abusers while searching for support services. We are very excited about this partnership and what it will mean for so many women across the United States."

The SurfEasy USB Key is available at www.surfeasy.com for $59.99 (USD).

About NCADV
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) has worked for more than thirty-four years to end violence against women by raising awareness and educating the public about the effects of domestic abuse. Our work includes developing and sustaining ground-breaking public policy at the national level and assisting the 2,000+ urban and rural shelters and programs at the local, state, and regional levels of the nation in the programming they offer to victims seeking safety and assistance. Currently, our constituency encompasses more than 50,000 programs and individuals and is growing daily.
